Public School's Responsibility to Special Needs Students May Change Thanks to Endrew F. vs. Douglas County School District

On Wednesday, January 11, 2017, the Supreme Court Justices appeared closer to "strengthening the rights of the nation's 6.7 million children with disabilities" by requiring increased responsibility from school districts. Clarification of federal law that states children with disabilities have a right to a "free and appropriate education" is also expected.
The U.S. Supreme announced last year that it would hear the case of a couple from Douglas County Colorado who claimed their autistic son was not provided an appropriate education in a public school setting as required by law. The Supreme Court Justice's ruling on the Endrew F. vs. Douglas County School District could have significant impact public education and children.
