Measles cases are on the rise in the United States. An article in the Jose Mercury News stated 700 measles cases reported in 22 states. California reported four separate outbreaks in 2019. Eleven counties have reported cases for a total of 38 confirmed measles cases. The County of Los Angeles issued a news release on April 22, 2019, that states the chance of measles expose is on the increase and urged residents to get measles immunization.
Schools and childcare centers are asked to help in the prevention of the spread of measles by following a measles reference for schools and Childcare centers issued by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.
