CAPSES will host a region meeting for member and non-member nonpublic schools and agencies in the Greater Los Angeles area. The meeting is scheduled for Friday, December 2nd at 10:30 a.m., and will be held at Kayne Eras Center, located at 5350 Machado Road in Culver City.
The Greater Los Angeles Area CAPSES region established a rate negotiation process with the Greater Los Angeles Area SELPA (GLAAS) two years ago. The group is now working to develop a process with the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) after LAUSD agreed to a rate negotiation process early this fall. Topics of discussion for the December 2nd meeting include:
- New rate negation process with LAUSD
- Adult assistance rates with LAUSD
- CDE audit requirement for NPS/As
- Master contracts and master contract language
- LAUSD procedures and communications
- Restraint and seclusion
Ray Richard, CAPSES Los Angeles Area Region representative, encourages non-member nonpublic school and agency representatives to attend and learn first-hand, the work CAPSES does on behalf of nonpublic schools and agencies regionally, and throughout the state. "These are challenging times for our industry. Uniting with CAPSES as we prepare to create a process with LAUSD creates a unified voice and a stronger position for nonpublic schools and agencies and the students we serve."
