About CCHAT Center - Sacramento
The CCHAT Center - Sacramento is an auditory/oral school for children who are deaf or hard of hearing. Our children use hearing aids and cochlear implants to listen and develop spoken language. With intensive classroom instruction and daily individualized speech therapy, sounds begin to take on meaning, children learn to think about what they are hearing and spoken language develops. Children from birth through eight years of age are enrolled with the goal of becoming competent on oral communication to achieve successful mainstreaming in their neighborhood schools, often by kindergarten or first grade.
