About Kayne Eras Center
In July 2008, the Kayne Eras Center merged with the Exceptional Children's Foundation, creating the only agency in Southern California that provides a continuum of services to individuals with disabilities from birth through adulthood. During the late 1970s, Barbara Cull, an educator and mother of a special needs child, became frustrated and discouraged by the inability of the public school system to adequately assist her child. She knew that other parents faced the same difficulties and that most parents, not having her background in education, were even more baffled. By 1980, Ms. Cull had officially started the Educational Resource and Services Center (ERAS) as a non-profit organization designed to holistically meet the wide range of needs of children with learning and developmental disabilities and their families. Building on her knowledge of education, Ms. Cull developed a replicable, multi-disciplinary educational model that stressed: Easy access Early intervention Intensive and specialized programming Innovative educational strategies to meet the unique needs of each child and family The Kayne Eras Center quickly established itself as a pioneer in the special education field. It grew from a small operation serving six children to a large multi-service center now serving over 550 children, youth and adults each year through its individualized educational programs.Meet the Team
